To coincide with this anniversary FC Barcelona have prepared various events to promote the Convention during Saturday's Barça-Sevilla

This Thursday the 20th of November saw the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the first international recognition of children as social entities with their own rights. The text was approved by the General Assembly of the United Nations on the 20th November, 1989.

FC Barcelona, as an institution heavily involved with the rights of children, would like to add their voice to the celebration of this landmark by carrying out various promotional activities which will coincide with the Barça-Sevilla game this Saturday.

Present for the game in the Presidential Area will be Anna Folch, the President of the Catalan Unicef Committee. Barça have links with the Committee that stretch back 8 years and symbolize the Club’s commitment to helping children, in particular the most vulnerable.

Prior to Saturday’s game at Camp Nou a group of children will have their photographs taken with the Barça first team, the members of which will also be wearing commemorative t-shirts. During the game there will be perimeter advertising publicising the anniversary and celebratory messages on the video scoreboard.
