More than one hundred computer and tablets have been handed over at an event held on Friday at the Camp Nou

This Friday the councillor for Social Welfare and the Family, Neus Munté, the president of FC Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, and the regional director of Intel for South Europe, Norberto Mateos Carrascal, attended the handover of more than one hundred computer devices to fourteen charity organisations working with children.

The donation of the latest Intel based computer is the result of the sponsorship agreement signed with FC Barcelona. When the agreement was made last December 14, and for two months, Intel pledged that it would donate to the FC Barcelona Foundation five computers for each match the team played and one more for each goal scored by the first team, all part of the campaign called One Goal = One Computer.

Now that the material has been received, the Foundation, in agreement with the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Family, has established a list of fourteen beneficiary organisations, who received the donation on Friday consisting of desktops, laptops and tablets. The organisations that received the material were as follows: Càritas Diocesana Barcelona, Casal dels Infants per l’Acció als Barris, Fundació Centre Obert Joan Salvador Gavina, Centre Trinijove, Fundació Catalana Comtal, Centre Convivim - Fundació Privada Viarany, Fundació Acció Social Infància (FASI), Fundació SER.GI, Eduvic, Associació Gabella, Fundació ADSIS, Associació Educativa Integral del Raval, Centre Cruïlla - Parròquia St. Bernat de Claravall and Funcacio SHE.

The handover was held in the presidential lobby at the Camp Nou, and was attended by representatives of all the beneficiaries. During the speeches, councillor Munté congratulated Intel and the FC Barcelona Foundation for such a great initiative and guaranteed that the Government “understands that actions and policies that affect the future of boys and girls have to go beyond a specific social context or Government. They are an issue for a country that demands the utmost consensus and implication of everyone”.

Meanwhile, president Bartomeu stressed “the added value that this gesture brings to the agreement with Intel”, a decision “that shows the sensitivity of this world leader in computer innovation and essential technologies”. Norberto Mateos Carrascal, Intel’s Regional Manager for the Southern Region added "The donation signifies our commitment to this partnership and our joint values, and also our ongoing commitment to enrich the lives of people around the globe through the use of technology".
