The collaborative project between the FC Barcelona Foundation and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is starting to take its first steps, as the Camp Nou hosted the first Olympafirca FutbolNet Cup educators class this past weekend. The Olympafirca FutbolNet Cup is a football tournament based on the FutbolNet methodology, and thanks to the agreement between the FC Barcelona Foundation and the IOC, the tournament will be available in many African countries in the coming months.

Delegations from Senegal, Zimbabwe, Lesotho and Ivory Coast participated in a three-day long course focused on the theory and implementation of FutbolNet's methodology, which aims to use football as a tool through which children learn values.
Practical sessions in Banyoles and Barcelona
The sessions specifically focused on showing what aptitudes and behaviours FutbolNet monitors should possess and how to create an atmosphere where the pedagogic process becomes possible. As a compliment to the course, the Olympafirca representatives visited the FutbolNet project in Banyoles, and then they led a FutbolNet session in Barcelona.
The next educators class is scheduled to kick off in Bujumbura, Burundi, where educators from 23 African countries are expected to attend. The Olympafirca FutbolNet Cup is projected to reach over 78,000 children throughout the African continent.
