The multinational will be providing resources to the FCB Foundation's project in the state of Jalisco in association with the Rafa Márquez Foundation
Gillette and FC Barcelona have come to an agreement for the multinational men’s personal care products company to donate resources to the FC Barcelona Foundation in support of the FutbolNet project in Mexico.
The project to promote values through sport is being conducted in association with the Rafa Márquez Foundation, with which FC Barcelona reached a deal last August.
It will be set up on the playing fields used by the former FCB man’s foundation in the state of Jalisco. FutbolNet will have 250 beneficiaries in the country aged between 8 and 15 years, as well as 20 mediators aged between 14 and 19.
Pont: “An alternative for development”
“FutbolNet is a project that seeks to help children through positive values derived from the practice of football" said Ramon Pont, first vice-president of the FC Barcelona Foundation. "As a result of the agreement with Gillette, Mexican children will now be able to explore an alternative form of development through sport.”
Gillette’s contribution has come about as part of the sponsorship deal recently struck with FC Barcelona and by which the company has become the club’s Official Shaver in Latin America until 2017.

FutbolNet has been applied in Catalonia since 2010/11 and has been a huge success among the participants. But the methodology is so versatile that it has been adapted to the international arena. It currently exists in two Latin American countries, Argentina and Brazil; in the Middle East in Iraq, Qatar and Oman; and in more than thirty African countries in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee.
